Magna Tyres developed a special tyre range for mining & earthmoving, which are defined in different categories. We offer solutions suited to various mining conditions, such as open pit mining, quarries and surface mining. Opencast mining is a technique to extract minerals from an open pit in the ground. This mining technique is used when mineral or ore deposits are found close to the surface of the earth. In these situations, tyres often have to deal with different types of extreme terrain. Therefore the tread pattern has to be extremely robust.
The range earthmover tyres are designed to meet the requirements for the most severe working conditions. Tyres must withstand landslides, floods and heat encountered during mining and transporting bulk because they operate in different areas such as soft, muddy and rocky terrains. Magna Tyres offers a full line of OTR tyres of both bias and radial. It depends on the specific application for which the tyre is to be used. Bias tyres are better suited for short distances than radial tyres. Our range of bias tyres consists of the sizes 27.00-49 and 21.00-25 while our range of radial tyres consists of the sizes 20.5R25 and 23.5R25.
The Magna mining and earthmover range is designed to suit all types of sites and machines. Within mining & earthmoving there are many different types of machines. All OTR tyres include enhanced rubber compound that offers excellent wear and improved resistance to punctures. Therefore, the Magna tyre range is very wide and can be used under wheel loaders, dozers and graders. To shovel material into trucks of transport it across a work site, loaders and bulldozers are often used. While graders and scrapers ensure that the ground is made flat for the machines to drive over.
