White Paper: How to Build a Tire
How to Build a Tire
Do you know how tires are made? They come in various shapes and sizes, depending on their intended use. Our white paper explains how the tire building process works. For this process, we assume that all requirements for the tire are known and have been included in the engineering process prior to production. We take you through the tire production process in the white paper.
How Tires are Made
The process of building a tire consists of four phases. The first phase is the preparation phase. This is where the tire compounding and tire mixing process take place. After this, the tire carcass is built. This carcass is the foundation of the tire. When the foundation is ready, it will be combined with the mixed rubber compound of the tire and a tread pattern will be added. The tire is then placed in a mold, for giving the tire its final shape and size. Up next, is the tire curing process. This process helps to bond all the layers of the tire together and makes the tire ready for tire marking. In the last phase, the tire undergoes quality control. Once the tire’s quality is up to our standards, the tire had passed all the stages and will be ready for shipment.
