Tyres are almost the most important part of a machine. In fact, the tyre is the only part that comes into contact with the road. Therefore, it is important for tyres to find the balance between traction and comfort and, of course, to have a long life. OTR tyres have many requirements that they must meet and therefore they are much more difficult to design than you might think. There are usually 5 steps that are taken during tyre manufacturing, before an OTR tyre is included in a range. We will show you these 5 steps below!

Understanding Trough Research

Before tyre manufacturing starts, we study our customer’s tyre usage and continue to communicate with them to ensure that our tyres meet everyone’s needs and last as long as possible.

Preparation

To produce an OTR tyre, more than 200 components are added together to make the perfect rubber. From raw materials such as carbon black to semi-finished products such as textile fabrics.

Design

We design many different renders to develop the best tyres that are tested.

Manufacturing

Our OTR tyres are expertly built through automated processes. During these processes, the materials of the tyre are converted from a plastic state to an elastic state. This operation is called vulcanization and during this process the compound structure between the different components of the tyre is created. This can take place through the special presses that have a combined action of heat and pressure. This phase can last up to 12 hours, depending on the size of the tyre. During this phase the tyre is also given its final shape and appearance.

Quality Control

Quality control does not just happen at the end of the process. From the moment the raw materials and semi-finished products arrive until the tyres leave the factory, quality checks are carried out at every stage.
